About Amber

Amber Tafoya is working hard to be the next State Representative for our district, HD4. A proud Democrat who is active in our community, she would be honored to represent the people of Northwest and West Denver.

Her life has always been devoted to helping others, from her early days as a Girl Scout to now as an attorney and advocate for hard working families. As the daughter of a union electrician, a proud Army wife, and a Latina, Amber understands the struggles thousands of Coloradoans face from her own experiences. Yet she knows that each of us have valuable wisdom to offer in solving tough problems and making our government work for us.

Amber believes that if you want to fix a problem, you must listen to those who are most affected by the issue. She listened to victims of crime express over and over that they needed changes in the law to be safe. In response, she played a key role in passing bills to protect victims including the Address Confidentiality Program now operating in the Colorado Secretary of State’s office and improvements to protection orders. She has successfully defended working families and has fought for enforceable labor protections, health care for all, and educational opportunities for our children including graduation requirements that make sense and streamlined P-20 educational objectives.

As a local community organizer, she helped bring neighbors together during the Obama campaign. She leads a variety of community improvement efforts and has played a lead role in graffiti clean ups and City Coucilman Paul Lopez's neighborhood Congress. She is determined to improve our lives as Coloradoans now and in the future.
